Sodium Percarbonate
(Oxy Boost)
$0.45/oz
Sodium percarbonate is the powerhouse stain-fighter of the low-waste cleaning cabinet. Often called oxygen bleach, it’s a dry combination of sodium carbonate and hydrogen peroxide that activates when mixed with water, releasing oxygen to help break down stains, odors, and organic grime. It’s fantastic for brightening whites, freshening towels and linens, removing stubborn stains, and deep-cleaning everything from laundry to some household surfaces. Unlike chlorine bleach, it breaks down into oxygen, water, and sodium carbonate, making it a popular alternative for people looking for a powerful cleaner without chlorine. Keep it dry, use it as directed, and let the oxygen do the heavy lifting.

Recipes:
1. Oxygen Bleach Laundry Soak
Best for: dingy whites, towels, socks & stubborn stains
2–4 tbsp sodium percarbonate
1 gallon warm/hot water
Dissolve completely, add laundry, and soak for 1–6 hours. Wash normally afterward.
Tip: Warm/hot water activates oxygen bleach best. Check fabric-care labels first.
2. Stain-Fighting Laundry Paste
Best for: grass, food, sweat & other organic stains
2 tbsp sodium percarbonate
1–2 tbsp warm water
Mix into a fresh paste, apply to the stain, and let sit for 10–30 minutes. Wash normally.
Important: Make only what you need—the mixture loses effectiveness as it releases oxygen.
3. Bottle & Container Soak
Best for: coffee stains, tea stains & funky reusable bottles
1 tbsp sodium percarbonate
1 quart warm water
Add to the container and let soak for 30–60 minutes. Rinse extremely well with clean water.
⚠️ Don't seal a container while the solution is reacting—oxygen gas is released and pressure can build. Avoid using on delicate materials or surfaces that may be damaged by oxidizers.
